Senior Associate - Project Services

Over Simon

Simon is a Senior Associate within Shirley Parsons Project Services team.

He has a passion for helping businesses and organisations across all sectors improve the way they work; whether in the design of their businesses, realising the benefits of new tech and digital opportunities, or in the delivery of operational improvements.

His range of experiences covers both the public and private sectors in the UK and globally. In 20 years as a consultant, he has helped over thirty businesses delivering over 60 projects and programmes.

Simon set up on his own in January 2022 following four years at the Oakland Group specialising in delivering complex change programmes focussed on quality and operations transformations. Prior to that he spent 5 years at PA Consulting leading change programmes in a range of environments, varying from the implementation of a new crime recording system across Leicestershire police force, to the design and installation of a new capability for the MOD in the oversight of the submarine acquisition programme.

Since working on his own, Simon has supported HMRC, both in developing their Sustainability delivery framework; and in their Portfolio Management Office where he developed and captured new ways of working that enabled automation of many of their P3M processes through the implementation of a new Project Management software.

He also led a programme at Hitachi Energy to design, and get alignment of the top 100 leaders in, a new global governance and assurance framework to enable the business to effectively manage its operations while it grows from an $8bn to $16bn business over the next five years.

Outside of work Simon likes to keep active and to support his community. He is a regular runner, and has completed several marathons. In support of the community, he is a Governor at a local primary school, a director of his local residents association, and a Non-Executive Director for a family run business.
