A global paint and coatings manufacturer is looking for and Environmental Health & Safety expert to act as their primary regulatory contact for three plants within the Netherlands.
With this opportunity, you would play a crucial role in leading environmental activities for locations in Amsterdam, Den Bosch and Uithoorn. You would ensure that legal requirements are met and that the environmental, health and safety procedures, standards and processes are adhered to for the chemical manufacturing plants. Your responsibilities include setting up an effective environmental management system, maintaining all required environmental documents, and acting as the environmental regulatory expert for the country.
The Country Environmental H&S Advisor will:
-Develop and tailor a local environmental plan to the needs of the company, organization, and regulations.
-Manage environmental regulatory activities, permits, annual environmental reviews, and documentation to verify compliance.
-Conduct environmental assessments and evaluate compliance with EHS standards.
-Monitor environmental measurements to comply with local regulations.
-Conduct reviews and audits of waste handlers to comply with the Global Waste Stewardship Program.
-Prepare for potential inspections by local government agencies and manage any follow-up actions.
-Monitor the acquisition and renewal of environmental permits (air, waste, (waste) water).
-Coordinate ISO 14001 audits for the companies.
-Provide the required documentation for preparing BRZO reports and updates.
-Develop and lead an effective network process at the business unit level to ensure environmental requirements are effectively addressed.
-Communicate effectively with local stakeholders.
The Country Environmental H&S Advisor will have:
-Bachelor's or master's degree in environment, chemistry or a related science, with at least 3 to 5 years of experience.
-Working knowledge of workplace health and safety and/or environmental regulations. Working knowledge of key business metrics, key drivers, company vision and production processes/challenges, if applicable.
