Shirley Parsons Netherlands, in October of 2023, proudly volunteered at Buurtboerderij Nieuweweg, a local sustainable agricultural co-op.
Buurtboerderij Nieuweweg's aim and focus is on organic farming and permaculture, educating the community about the value of locally sourced, fresh produce. Our team, Ally Bliss, Inês Pereira da Costa, & Burcu Yasa, rolled up their sleeves and got stuck in! They experienced some hands-on farming, engaged with the local community, and expanded their knowledge about sustainable farming practices such as repurposing sheep wool and using wood chips to nurture fertile soil and techniques in reducing water usage.
